Health Care Kickoff
Approximately thirty citizens interested in health care reform gathered at Party Headquarters this past Saturday morning. Among them were consumers with tragic stories of how the "system" has failed, public health professionals, nurses, social workers, people experienced in creating policy, and others who just wanted to contribute to a new vision.
Hawaii is the only State with an employer mandated health system, knows as the Prepaid Health Care law. Before identifying features of an improved or ideal system, the group felt it was important to provide a brief perspective on the strengths and weaknesses of our unique system....
